LOCATION

On 13/04/2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato-Venereology, in collaboration with Minthacare (Bioderma), successfully hosted the scientific conference “Comprehensive Acne Control Strategies”, attracting over 700 dermatologists and aesthetic medicine specialists through both on-site and online participation.

Chaired by Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang, Deputy Director of the Hospital, the conference provided in-depth and practice-oriented perspectives on the management of acne vulgaris — a common yet clinically challenging condition requiring long-term, individualized strategies.

Over more than four hours of intensive scientific exchange, leading experts with extensive clinical and academic experience presented highly applicable topics focused on translating evidence-based knowledge into daily practice.

Key scientific highlights included:

PhD, MD. Pham Thi Uyen Nhi presented updated insights on pharmacological acne management, reviewing current recommendations on topical antibiotics, next-generation retinoids, combination therapies, and the importance of personalized treatment to minimize antibiotic resistance.

MSc, MD. Phan Minh Doan shared practical approaches to non-pharmacological acne treatment, analyzing the clinical effectiveness of lasers, light-based therapies, and energy devices, alongside patient selection and counseling strategies.

MSc, PharmD. Nguyen Truong Vi introduced breakthrough perspectives on sebum regulation and optimized combination therapy, emphasizing how appropriate moisturization — by skin type and treatment phase — can enhance therapeutic outcomes and reduce adverse effects.

PhD, MD. Nguyen Thi Hong Chuyen addressed the often-overlooked topic of truncal acne management, highlighting the role of individualized care and supportive skincare in improving adherence, symptom control, and relapse prevention.

The conference atmosphere was highly engaging, with active clinical discussions centered on real-world cases and treatment outcomes. Beyond knowledge dissemination, the event reinforced a shared professional commitment to advancing comprehensive, patient-centered acne care through multidimensional and evidence-based approaches.
